Mawgan Porth beach is a Surfers Paradise. Popular with families and surfers, its long, flat and sandy beach is exposed to Atlantic swells. The beach is surrounded on both sides by cliffs and rocks. During low tide there many accessible caves and rock outcrops. On the south side of the beach, the River Menalhyl flows out to the sea.

The beach is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the summer (16th May to 27th September)
